Reblogging From My Other Blog Cos Dont Feel Like Uploading
aquify asked:
why practice when i upload a photograph on mobile it appears equally a text post with an image embedded to it?
Hi! Peachy question. Our mobile apps utilise the Neue Mail Format (NPF).
Where our legacy post types were based strictly on the main content type, the NPF enables yous to add different content blocks in a single post.
All new original posts created via NPF are considered legacy regular/text type posts. The semantic of a single "post type" no longer makes sense for NPF posts that can have a variety of content block types.
You can also use the NPF on web. Enable it by turning on the Beta toggle in the tiptop correct corner:
[all images are described in alt text]
Permit's have a closer look. Here are ii posts I made on my exam weblog:
The mail on the left is a legacy post. The mail on the correct is an NPF mail. Hither, they look identical.
Nonetheless, NPF posts that contain media can look a flake weird on your blog if you're using a theme that relies heavily on the legacy post types. Bank check out the Tumblr theme documentation if you'd like to tackle it on your own, or check out other theme options at tumblr.com/themes.

Hey, cheers for the feedback!
We're exploring more than ways of making Tumblr financially sustainable, and then we tin can continue this weird ship afloat. You don't have to purchase into it if you don't desire, only like Matt, current interim Tumblr CEO, said in a recent mail service:
Remember that correct now Tumblr costs a lot more than to run than it makes, role of that bet is predicated on the idea that it's losing money at present but it'll grow and brand it up later. We just have to get in through this interim period by listening to users, iterating speedily, and shipping high-quality updates.

I think long ago there used to be this characteristic in labs that allow you lot see the reblog chains for posts, I don't know what it was called but it looked something like this
I left Tumblr for a while, and when I returned the characteristic had been removed. I recollect trying to notice out why it had been removed and saw a lot of people expressing interest in having it back, as information technology was a actually cool feature that allowed you likewise meet how traction was gained on a postal service. Would y'all ever consider bringing this feature or something like information technology back?
Hello @bluhbluhwarhammer, thanks for submitting this question. Too, thank you to @superwobble, @thoughtkick, and @christinaseas for request a like question.
Nosotros've seen some user feedback about how this feature allowed users to detect more content surrounding a specific mail service/reblog. birbs-in-space asked:
Hi! I think it would be absurd if there was an option similar to close friends on Instagram and when you make a post you can have the option to make it visible to that group of people only.
This isn't a very important suggestion and i recognize in that location'southward a lot of complexity to this peculiarly in the long term like. If you make a close friends post and then two weeks downward the line y'all change your close friends listing. Does that modify who can come across that postal service? (I think yep. Optionally, when you add or remove people from your list, you accept the option to permit them see or cease beingness able to meet shut friend posts.) And so. Not necessarily super straight forward.
One mode to do it that i call up might exist interesting is that when you make a post you lot can choose a list of users that it'southward visible to.
Oh wait hm also thought two. Expiring posts. I've seen enough posts tagged delete after that i think it might be handy to be able to set a post to self-destruct at a certain time or after a certain amount of fourth dimension has passed.
Hey @birbs-in-space, thank you lot for sharing these truly excellent ideas!
We don't currently have plans to limit the visibility of a mail service—every bit yous've said higher up, that requires some serious idea.
BUT! We do have some post-level reblog controls coming out soon for Android, iOS, and web. These will allow an OP to select who can reblog any given mail via a toggle with options for anybody (default), people you follow, or only yourself (i.e., nobody else).
Potential futurity iterations may include a "mutuals" selection, a setting for default reblog settings, and post-level reply controls. Merely, as with all good things, these volition take some time.
The self-destructing mail service idea is a fun little guy and bears thinking virtually. We'll laissez passer it on to someone who knows nigh these things.
As always, go along an eye on @changes for the new stuff! Thanks again for writing in. We love hearing your ideas!

Are in that location any plans of calculation boosted features to Ad-Costless? Running a site is very expensive and supporting Tumblr is a good idea, only Advert-Free competes directly with plugins like uBlock and Xrite which are both free. Any plans of calculation cool stuff like unique profile features for paying members? Doesn't have to be fancy, just I call back it would help push Ad-Free subscriptions if people got some boosted functionality out of it - even if it was merely new artful features. Cheers!
Hey, @quinn-push button-for-hugs Thank you for your question.
Unfortunately, there are no current plans to introduce new benefits. While we take nothing more than concrete to offer right now, as always, we would advise you keep an eye stock-still on @changes to see what'due south new.
On that note, thanks also to @misanthropiczombie, who particularly hopes the April Fools Solar day venereal could one day make a reappearance. While in that location are no plans for either modify at this fourth dimension, we will never say never. Then sit back and picket this space.

Does Tumblr store any credit card information for ad-free subscriptions? The Support pages say Post+ and Tips go entirely through Stripe and no payment information is stored in-house. It would be useful to accept the same information available for ad-complimentary subscriptions.
Hi @tenlittlebullets,
This is an excellent ask and the perfect opportunity for us to ostend that Tumblr will not exist storing or having admission to any credit card information. All payments for Ad-Free Browsing, like Post+ and Tips, are processed by Stripe.
Y'all tin can discover this information in this Help Centre article. Hope this clarifies things!
